Caught on SN.

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
“Not very long,” answered the Mexican.
“So why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” asked the American.
The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked,“But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
“I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children and take a siesta with my wife.
“In the evenings,I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life.”
The American interrupted,“I have an MBA from Harvard University and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.”
“And after that?” asked the Mexican.
“With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man,you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant.
“You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City,Los Angeles or even New York City. From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”
“How long would that take?” asked the Mexican.
“Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the American.
“And after that?”
“After that? Well my friend, that’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the American, laughing.
“When your business gets really big,you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!”
“Millions? Really? And then?” asked the Mexican.
“Then you will be able to retire, live in a cosy village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.”
And the moral of this story is: Know where you are going in life. You may already be there.

solloh well xplained I love it ...

How to Create Complete & Perfect Freedom

By Dr. Robert Anthony
Creator of
Rich Mind Life Strategy

Imagine doing what you want, when you want, with whom you want, where you want, for as long as you want, without ever having to answer to anyone…

Let me ask you a question.

How would you know if you were "rich"?

That may seem like a stupid question. You would probably reply,“I would know if I was rich if I had no bills,or I had a lot of money in the bank,or had income producing investments or business,or I could buy whatever I want without having to go into debt.

What Are True Riches?

If you gave any of the above answers you would be partially correct. Most people perceive wealth or riches as the ability to be financially secure. However, true riches offer an even greater benefit than financial security A person who is truly rich knows they are truly rich when they have achieved the most valuable asset of all: PERSONAL FREEDOM!

This is true wealth – to have complete FREEDOM to live life on YOUR terms.

Focus on What You Want to Attract

When I did not understand the principle of personal freedom,I focused on money. I wanted money, and I wanted lots of it! That was my goal. And because we get what we focus on,I attracted more money.

But then one day I realized that what I really wanted was the freedom to live life on my terms. First,it's important to know when people see how I live and conduct my business, they often say that,“It’s easy for you,you earn a lot of money, you’re famous, you’ve got a huge demand for your books, training programs, etc.” But they miss the point. I purposely designed my life this way when I had no money.

This was my dream. This was my intention.

Focus on Having Personal Freedom

Living this way is the basis of what I teach in my books, audio programs, seminars and personal counseling. What you get in life is determined by what you focus on and the actions you take.

In other words, you get the outcome of personal freedom by focusing on it and practicing it. It is both the cause and the effect or the outcome.

I choose freedom to do what I like, when I like, where I like, with whom I like in both my personal life and in my business.

For example,I do not carry a mobile phone with me unless I am traveling. When I am at home, which is ninety percent of the time,I don’t carry one with me. My reasoning is that I am just not that important that I must annoy everyone who comes into contact with me by constantly and incessantly talking on the phone.

If you feel you have to carry a mobile phone with you everywhere and answer every call, you are not free - you are a prisoner.

Create Your Life By Design

In addition to not carrying a mobile phone with me,I do not take any unscheduled phone calls. Even my personal coaching clients who pay me tens of thousands of dollars must make advance appointments to talk with me on the phone - and those calls are kept to a minimum because I prefer getting emails.

As a result, today,I work only with people I enjoy working with.
No exceptions. If I have a troublesome client,I fire them!

My Freedom Makes Me Truly Rich

I live pretty much as I choose. If I want to take a day off to go out to the races, watch the horses run and have a bet,I do. If I want to travel anywhere,I do. If I want to be with someone, dine anywhere or go when I want, whenever I want,I do.

My peace of mind and my freedom to live my life on my terms is why I am truly rich. Yet,I want to quickly emphasize, this has nothing to do with the amount of money I earn. This just helps to support my lifestyle of freedom.

But here is the point: I created this at a time when I could not afford it. I didn’t wait until I had to money to do it. It was my core desire. I believe anyone can live this way of they choose. People tell me that because of their circumstances it is not possible for them to do this. I tell them “horse pucky.” You can do anything you want if you set your intention and follow through.

This is true wealth. You can have it your way regardless of what you do for a living, regardless of the business you're in,where you live, your current income, wealth or lack thereof, regardless of any variable you can possibly name. If you will deliberately get in ALIGNMENT with creating freedom,YOU - I mean: YOU - can have it!

Get in Alignment with Your Desire to be Free

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to get in total ALIGNMENT spiritually, mentally, emotionally, strategically and behaviorally with a lifestyle of personal freedom,so you can enjoy the results of you wealth. This is the position you want to get into,as quickly as possible.

If you want a lifestyle of total personal freedom, now, not 'someday' - You can join me today. It comes from developing a RICH MIND LIFE STRATEGY.

As always,I wish you the best of everything that you are willing to accept for yourself.

Dr. Robert Anthony is the author of 15 books including the million copy best sellers "The Ultimate Secrets of Total Self Confidence" and "Advanced Formula for Total Success". His latest creation is the comprehensive life-changing program,Rich Mind Life Strategy.

Aviators have a very strange interpretation of ARRIVING: A very hard landing!! Can barely comprehend what the heck they meant.

As long as everyday life is entangled in problems of all nature, just like magda has said, arrival is in the eyes of the beholder..or maybe we can say it in terms of ...level/degree of arrival...

Financially to me you arrive when you can reasonably ave lot of fun without having to worry too much about spending  all your savings.... I mean when your assets can comfortably buy for you luxury...
However its very important 4 u 2b very grateful and always count your blessing, those already acquired and those still hoping to acquire in future...
In life you will have arrived when your surrounded by your beautiful family that you love unconditionally and always be there for regardless of the situation, you can provide for, take good care of and protect...
I will have arrived when my family will no longer be referred to as the common mwananchi.

'Pregnant man' goes on Oprah

This article was first published on on Friday April 04 2008. It was last updated at 11:25 on April 04 2008.

An American man who claims he is six months pregnant said it was a "miracle" in his first TV interview.

Thomas Beatie,34,of Bend,Oregon, used to be a woman before undergoing gender reassignment surgery.

He first claimed he was pregnant in an article headlined "Labour of love" in a gay magazine, the Advocate, last month.

Many were sceptical, particularly after Beatie said he would not give any interviews until April Fools' Day.

But speaking on Oprah Winfrey's US chat show yesterday,he said: "Different is normal and love makes a family. And that's all that matters."

Beatie appeared with his wife,Nancy, for the interview. The audience was shown footage of his ultrasound scan and heard the sound of a heartbeat.

As he saw the scan on the monitor,Beatie told the doctor: "She's kicking. I can't believe it. I can't believe she's inside me. This is a miracle. We see this as a miracle."

He described pregnancy as a "human desire",not limited to women.

"I'm a person and I have the right to have my own biological child," he said.

Beatie said pregnancy did not make him feel more feminine.

"It doesn't make me want to go and shave my legs or something," he said. "I'm a man,I just happen to be a pregnant man."

He told Winfrey he had had a sex change but had not altered his reproductive organs because he wanted to have a child.

"I didn't know how,it was just a dream," he said.

"There was no plan laid out."

He said many organisations the couple had contacted for help had advised them against going public, warning: "The world's not ready for something like this."

But he said: "I think people will be shocked because no one's ever heard of a man giving birth before.

"I guess it's a shocking concept, but in this day and age that's possible. And it's happening now."

Dr Kimberley James, the couple's doctor in Bend,Oregon, told the show the pregnancy was "normal".

"This baby's totally healthy and this is,I consider,an average pregnancy," she said.

Beatie was born female and called Tracy Lagondino before undergoing gender reassignment surgery. He is legally married and has been married for five years.

He was a Miss Teen Hawaii finalist but described himself as a tomboy growing up.

Beatie told Winfrey he "found himself" at college after a boyfriend told him he was not feminine enough.

"I feel like I was meant to be exactly who I am today," he said.

This topic is good.  In life you dont arrive 'in your own eyes' but 'in other peoples eyes'.

It depends on ones ambitions and targets. There is this Old man in our village who has like five cows,1/2 acre of surgacane and bananas and a famiy (wife, kids, grand kids and grand grand kids). He lives like a king and always proclaims he is very rich. He has arrived.

I  got this story by email a while back, sorry if you have read it already but I thought it shows what it means to arrive. The guy who picked up the apples for the girl, that one had arrived.

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago.  They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night’s dinner.  In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere.

Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.

ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved goodbye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight.  Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.

He was glad he did.

The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her,no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this,he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.

When he had finished,he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl,“Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?” She nodded through her tears. He continued on with,“I hope we didn’t spoil your day too badly.”

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him,“Mister….”

He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued,“Are you Jesus?”

He stopped in mid-stride,and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: “Are you Jesus?” Do people mistake you for Jesus?

Arriving while on earth????? [Kimuti]
Friday, May 09, 2008 10:14

In my world, its not possible to arrive while on earth. what you can be is comfortable,

where you dont worry over your living expenses no matter your lifestyle. coz life is a gift

which is sustained by contribution. if you stop contributing to life, you start dying. its like

this,we breathe in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. Trees do the reverse. if you stop

giving out Co2,you are dead. if a tree stops giving out O2 its dead with the exception of

 night time.

Life is a gift, sustained by your contribution

hmmm .... very interesting insights. I think the people who have TRULLY arrived are not 'there' on the basis of wealth. e.g Mother Teresa basically lived a life of committed service to others ... she i believe had arrived. Most of us will go the self preservation way.. making sure we have savings and investments to outlive us and so on. contrasting the posts by sammy11 and krisso... while it wise to save for huko when you cant push,it should not be our our mission statement. Akina W. Buffet after accumulating billions over the years now give it all away. Maybe it is wise to give it all away to begin with? my 2 cents...

We can never arrive by God's Design [Marty]
Friday, May 09, 2008 08:02

I think God made us in a manner where we can never 'arrive' while here on earth. Reason being,we'd cease to respect God if we 'arrive'. Again, there will always be people ahead and behind us esp financially. So nothing like arriving. However,we always should be people of integrity, honest and loving. And we will make the world a better place.

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

It depends on your age and lifespan cycle and healthcare. Most people in retirement are living longer than they had planned an dare outliving their savings.Money will never be enough and you should always save as much as possible to last you a lifetime.
